How the Ask Ingrid app works!
Select your dietary requirements, search for a food item, or scan a product – Ask Ingrid shows you the information relevant to your selection. Maintain a food and symptom diary that you can then share with your nutrition professional as a PDF.
6 steps for your well-being
Step 1
Select your dietary requirements
Determine which intolerances and dietary forms are relevant to you. Ask Ingrid then adapts the display to your selection.

Step 2
Search for a food item
Search through more than 7,000 foods. Identify which entries might match your selection directly in the overview. Optimized for color-blind and visually impaired users.
My goal was an app that makes complex information understandable – scientifically correct and easy to use, honest and with great attention to detail.

Step 3 (European Union only)
Scan a product
Scan the barcode of a packaged European product. Ask Ingrid searches a database of more than 3 million products and categorizes the available information.

Step 4
Compare experiences – we are stronger together!
See how other Ingrid users with your exact dietary requirements personally assess a food item. Community ratings are based on users’ personal experiences and not on scientific measurements. This allows you to assess food even better and more individually.
Collaboration with dietetic professionals is important. For us as app developers, but also for our users as those affected.

Step 5
Free Login
Create a free Ingrid Cloud account and back up all your app data on our EU server. This allows you to restore your scans and entries at any time. Nothing is lost after changing or purchasing a new phone.
Paid subscription
Additionally, take out a monthly or annual subscription so you can use Ask Ingrid without limits.
Step 6
Document nutrition and symptoms
Record food, drinks, symptoms, and other observations in a chronological timeline. Share the food and symptom diary via PDF or printout with your nutritionist.
The diary is only available with a Pro subscription and a free login (Step 5).

Tolerance is individual
Ask Ingrid presents information clearly, but does not provide diagnoses and is not a substitute for medical or nutritional therapy advice. Are you looking for a nutrition professional? We have a tip for you!
