Ask Ingrid: The #1 app for food intolerances
At the time, our database was the first database for people with food intolerances. Started over 20 years ago, this database has continued to grow, has been researched, expanded, and carried forward in countless projects.
We wanted to develop our database as an app that doesn’t leave those affected alone with complicated tables and contradictory statements. Ask Ingrid clearly brings together relevant information and helps you assess foods based on your personal needs. Simple. Fast. Clear.
From experience and conviction
Behind Ask Ingrid is a small, independent team with experience in nutrition, research, software development, design, and communication.
Michael is responsible for nutrition and research. Benny handles technical development and implementation. Bernd supports Ask Ingrid in design and marketing.
We are supported by Sabrina, a dietitian and nutrition consultant at Joyfood. As a specialist consultant, she brings her practical experience from nutrition counseling into the further development of Ask Ingrid.
Developed for real everyday life
We know that intolerances are highly individual. That’s why we don’t see Ask Ingrid as a rigid set of rules, but as a practical guide.
In addition to professionally prepared information, the personal experiences of our community are also incorporated. This creates a more nuanced picture that helps people make informed decisions for their daily lives.
Independent and without a large corporation
Ask Ingrid is not run by a large corporation. We are a small team that develops and continuously improves the app with a lot of personal commitment.
No AI, but expert knowledge
Currently, more and more AI-generated apps and content are entering the market. The problem: automatically generated answers can sound convincing, even though they are incomplete, inaccurate, or not sufficiently verified by experts. Especially regarding nutrition and intolerances, this can lead to incorrect assessments.
That’s why Ask Ingrid is not based on spontaneously generated AI answers. Our content and ratings follow established professional principles, are prepared in a structured way, and are continuously reviewed.
Behind Ask Ingrid are real people with experience in nutrition, research, and nutrition counseling. This keeps our information transparent, consistent, and responsible.

Our stance
We want to make information easy to understand without promising false certainty. Ask Ingrid is not a substitute for a medical diagnosis or individual nutrition counseling. The app is designed to help you better understand connections and shape your everyday life more independently.
Thank you for your trust
More than 200,000 users have already used Ask Ingrid. This trust motivates us to make the app a little better every day.
